The past two years have been tough. No one wants to close schools or cut educations budgets. The cuts mean survival. Reorganization is the only clear way out and the only clear path to sustainability. Buildings are old. Consolidating students and programing into the remaining best of our buildings is a starting point. The buildings we keep require remodeling and upgrades and some new structures added to serve ALL our students.
The difficult first round has been completed. As a board member, I want to reignite excitement about our school district. The past is behind us; we have learned from it, but we cannot alter it, we can only improve upon it. We can only change our current course and aim toward a better future. It is time for our community to unite around a vision built upon our strong heritage of educational excellence and our dedication to the arts. It is time to move forward.
A positive choice for our future: Support the Referendum
Our schools are at a critical crossroads. The Reimagine Robbinsdale initiative isn't just a vague idea, it is a data-driven, community-vision of excellence designed by proven educational experts with a great deal of community input. But a plan without funding is just a wish.
To transform our classrooms, retain top-tier educators, and ensure our facilities are safe and modern, we must invest in buildings and programs.
Supporting the referendum is a direct investment in the property values of our neighborhoods, the safety of our schools, and the success of ALL students.
Delaying this investment will only make future solutions more difficult to achieve and significantly more expensive for taxpayers.
The comeback journey for District 281 has already begun under Dr. Staloch's leadership—now, it is up to the community to fund that vision.

The Reimagine Rdale vision is a community-created vision supported by a district created plan developed by proven experts and approved by the board. This is not just an idea from a few individuals or the board alone; this vision is community-driven every step of the way.
Most important accountability and sustainability is being built into every step of this process. The financial missteps must never happen again and accountable systems will prevent these problems. Professioinal, provable oversight is critical to our future successes and these mechanisms and processes (approved by the state in the SOD plan) are being built into the district operations.
To continue this journey, your investment is necessary to make positive transformations a reality.
